Venus enters Sagittarius: Time to embrace adventure and passion in your relationships

On December 29, romantic Venus will officially conclude its intensity-filled journey through Scorpio, making a debut in the worldly sign of Sagittarius. This means Venus resurrects after escaping the Underworld—where the goddess of love was left with no choice but to confront the darker aspects of herself and her relationships—via the hopeful and high-vibing sign of the archer. (Please note: we are no exception, as Venusian transits influence us both collectively and individually.)

In the meantime, take a minute to reflect on your Venus in Scorpio journey. Where does this fixed water sign come to life in your birth chart?

What did you discover about your intimate affairs and exchanges? Did it play a role in your relationships? When transiting the smoldering sign of Scorpio, lady Venus brings light to everything from your darkest fantasies to your secret desires, as they burn with both lust and fear of betrayal.

This changes upon her ingress into spontaneous Sagittarius, where Venus stumbles upon a rich array of opportunities. The best way to describe Venus in Sagittarius is by imagining the goddess of love dancing around a crackling bonfire, barefooted and free, after bathing in the salty sea. Not your Venus placement? Don’t worry.

Venus brings adventure, harmony, and fire to the astrological house that belongs to Sagittarius in your chart. While transiting this freedom-loving fire sign, the love planet reminds you of the abundance that exists within every experience. It instills the value of freedom, spirituality, and the journey itself.

This reminds me of a Miley Cyrus song, “The Climb,” where she says: "There's always gonna be another mountain, I'm always gonna wanna make it move. It's always gonna be an uphill battle; sometimes I'm gonna have to lose. Ain't about how fast I get there, ain't about what's waiting on the other side. It's the climb.” She’s a Sagittarius sun—isn’t it obvious?

Spicy and naturally restless, Venus morphs into a fearless wanderess who daydreams about the possibilities that exist in the unknown. Remember, Venus is symbolic of what brings us pleasure and satisfaction; it also speaks about relationship dynamics, money-making abilities, and value systems.

That being said, when considering Sagittarius’ planetary ruler Jupiter—the largest planet in the solar system and a symbol of growth, discovery, and expansion—it’s no wonder this Venusian transit tends to leave such a mark on our hearts. In addition to inspiring us with hope and lust for life, Venus in Sagittarius reminds us that the sky is, in fact, the limit.

On that note, while this is always fun, we are also collectively prone to overindulging when Venus transits this Jupiter-ruled sign. After all, it magnifies everything it comes in contact with, making Venus’ charms and love language larger than life itself.

Make sure you’re maintaining a healthy balance, as Venus in Sagittarius’ insatiability can be hard to ignore. In the meantime, at least while the love planet is backpacking through this thill-seeking sign, consider this an opportunity to explore and discover the beauty that lies over the horizon. Venus in Sagittarius dares you to boldly go where no one’s gone before, if you know what I mean.
